Leading up to moving day, there are certain necessary tasks that can easily be overlooked.
The following moving tips will help make the moving process a smooth and stress-free one.

Organize receipts & invoices.  That way you can readily reference shipments, purchases, and other information.

Light items & heavy items. One good strategy is to pack heavy items in small boxes and lighter objects in larger boxes.

Safeguard your possessions. For items that are irreplaceable (such as a family heirloom or artwork) bringing it with you will ensure it arrives at your destination safely.

Gather necessities. Items that you will be using up until moving day (such as toiletries, snacks, coffee, etc.) can be kept together and packed last.

Label all boxes. Labeling each box with a brief description of what’s inside and the room that it belongs will keep boxes in order and save time.

Get the family settled. Give children an activity. For example, they can learn their new address by writing their name, street, and town/city on boxes of their possessions.  Keep pets calm by finding a quiet space away from all the moving activity – or make arrangements for their care.
