The Maryland Mortgage Program – Greenbelt Home Advantage

Are you a renter in the City of Greenbelt? We are excited to share that if you are eligible for the Maryland Mortgage Program, there is another state program you may qualify for designed to help make homeownership more affordable!

The Greenbelt Home Advantage program provides renters in the City of Greenbelt, Maryland, with a generous $15,000 grant which can be used for down payment and/or closing costs when purchasing a home in the City of Greenbelt (ZIP code 20770).

Program Highlights & requirements:

  • Grant funds can be used for closing costs and/or down payment for FHA, VA, USDA,
    Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac loans.
  • Greenbelt Home Advantage Grant funds may not be used in combination with other
    Community Development Administrator (CDA) down payment assistance products or partner
    match funds. However, assistance from employers, builders, non-profits, etc. may be layered
    with this product.
  • Borrowers must meet all eligibility requirements established for the Maryland Mortgage
    Program, including First Time Homebuyer requirements.
